St. Peter's Church, Llanbedr
During the Coronavirus outbreak we will be posting prayers and bible readings, for those who would like to worship at home. We hope this helps.
This Blog started with updates on the progress of the work repairing and improving the church building. This has now finished, and included repairs to the roof and stonework, photovoltaic panels on the roof, improved disabled access, updating the electrics and lighting, installing a sound system and an exciting project making textile panels to show the history of the church and the people who have lived around it.

Happily the church has now had a good clean, and is all ready for anyone who needs to take a few minutes of quiet within its ancient walls. Measures are in place to keep both visitors and those looking after the church safe, so if anyone is looking for sanctuary from the noise of the day it can be found there. The church itself will be open on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons, from 2.00 until 3.30, but of course the churchyard is always available, and has plenty of places to sit and find peace.
If you need solace sooner than that, the prayer from Glenstal Abbey below might help.

Great joy and cheerfulness today as we welcome visitors into Wales again - as long as they come carefully, or course.
Imagine how great the joy must have been for these people in this evening's gospel, touched by the healing grace of Jesus Christ.

A friend shared this prayer today - although hoping that love has not grown cold, nor faith been scorned, but rebuilding the Church, so that it can reach people despite the lockdown, and after we come out of it, is certainly something to be hoped for. Patient prayer is something we can all share in, and hopefully as churches now re-open we can indeed feel thankfulness.

Somehow there is something in this evening's prayer that is reminiscent of the the peace and quiet we are still finding here in Wales during lockdown - perhaps we are even more aware of it now that things are getting busier over in England, with more services opening, even pubs!
Whatever your feelings about that, hopefully you are enjoying a peaceful weekend.

Advance notice of good news: next week the church will be open for private prayer or quiet reflection. We hope to have St Peter's door open from 2pm until 3.30 on Wednesday, 8th July, and again at the same time on each Sunday and Wednesday thereafter. There will be restrictions in place to keep all church users safe, and visitors are asked to follow the guidance, follow the request for quiet, and respect the church and each other.
Until restrictions are lifted further, we hope people will find benefit from this limited access to the church. Of course, of you wish to come on a different day, the churchyard remains generally peaceful, there are quiet places to sit and watch the birds and the landscape, and many have found comfort in reflection and prayer there.
We look forward to seeing you.
